Zohe Films was formed in 1981 by Jennifer Fox to create innovative documentaries. Jennifer Fox is an internationally acclaimed, award winning producer/director and educator. Directing, producing, shooting and consulting on documentaries around the world, she has endeavored to expand the boundaries of documentary filmmaking with films that address political subjects in unusually intimate ways. Her work forges subtle new aesthetics and narrative strategies in the documentary tradition. She has been foremost in encouraging young documentary makers to experiment with personal language and to shoot their own films.

Jennifer has Executive Produced, Produced and Directed series and feature length films that have reached audiences numbering in the millions. These films were featured in national prime time broadcasts on networks such as PBS, the BBC, ARTE, and in Demark, Finland, Israel, Japan, Argentina, Canada, Spain and more than 13 other countries. Cumulatively, Jennifer’s films have won numerous awards in both America and around the world, including four prizes at the Sundance Film Festival.

Over the years, Jennifer has taught at New York University, School of Visual Arts, and Film Video Arts in New York City. She lectures internationally and runs unique 1 - 10 day masterclasses and workshops in documentary directing, shooting, and producing around the world. She designed a yearlong documentary training program in South Africa for the South African Broadcasting Company (SABC) and the Maurits Binger Institute in the Netherlands that resulted in the creation of 13 documentaries that aired on SABC in 2003 and played at festivals internationally.

Jennifer just completed her new documentary, the six hour FLYING: CONFESSIONS OF A FREE WOMAN, which premiered at the International Film Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA) and the Sundance Film Festival 2007. FLYING will air on seven international television stations in 2007 and 2008. She is currently preparing to edit her new feature documentary, called, HOW I LEARNED TO SWIM, about her Tibetan Buddhist teacher of 25 years.
